United Islands of Prague
The United Islands of Prague Festival is the largest Prague multi-genre festival, one that brings to life the central part of our metropolis. This international open-air music festival was established in 2004. The first year was held on the weekend when the Czech Republic joined the European Union. From the beginning, the main program focuses on introducing the best discoveries of the local and world music scene.
The festival enriches the Czech cultural scene with new musical impulses. It draws attention to what is happening on the world stage. It has been introducing numerous audiences to young Czech bands that have the potential to become leading concert projects in the future, beyond the borders of the Czech Republic. It contributes to the diversity of the Czech scene and its contact with the world. The festival does not charge admission, provides the audience with a rich accompanying cultural program, and is therefore accessible to the general public.
