Blues Alive

Blues Alive Festival was founded in 1996 in the House of Culture Šumperk. Over the course of its existence, it has evolved from a local one-day event to the current form of a three-day musical marathon with world prestige. The first one is led by an effort to introduce the genre legends that have not been played in the Czech Republic so far, such as James Cotton, Hubert Sumlin, Louisiana Red, Cephas & Wiggins and Bob Margolin. top. This was the case for artists such as Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jonny Lang, Warren Haynes, Shemekia Copeland, Fantastic Negrito, Mr. Sipp and many others. And thirdly, the Blues Alive does not resign from its role as a search engine and brings discoveries that are at the beginning of a stellar career. For Czech hopes, as well as new talent from neighboring countries such as Poland, Slovakia and Austria, the festival has its Blues Aperitiv competition with more than twenty years of tradition. Blues Alive is already a three-time winner of the prestigious Polish music magazine Twój Blues. So far, the biggest success abroad has been in Blues Alive in 2019, when he received the greatest award in the United States for a non-musician: Keeping The Blues Alive Award.
